Thelma Wells Adams, Louise Brower, Joan Coleman, Genevieve Dale, Dorothy Dennis, Helen Duffy, Yvonne Gandy, Catherine Holland, Thelma Jones, Katie Martin, Margaret Smith, and Jacqueline Thomas.

Key Civic Projects

Donations of cleaning supplies and purses filled with toiletries to the YWCA for residents of the Battered Women Shelter, sustaining the Toledo Chapter Black Community Endowed Scholarship at the University of Toledo, hosted a ‘college shower’ gathering necessities to send to college students, brought toys for the Joy of Giving dance sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., donated black dolls to the Children Services foster care program.

Important Fact

The Girl Friends, Inc. Toledo Chapter established an Endowed Scholarship at the University of Toledo in 1988 that awards scholarships to graduating African American high school students in the Toledo area, to pursue their higher education academic pursuits at The University of Toledo.
