Goldie Beckett, Louise Bond, Ruth Bryant, Loretta Bush, Victoria Anderson Davenport, Dejarnette Duncan, Jane Hankins, Juanita Lane, Barbara Miller, Frances Parrish, Jewel Rabb, Ione Stanley, and Thelma West.
Purchased two life NAACP memberships; Participated in local and national civil rights struggles; Furnished recreational rooms at Central State Hospital; Worked with foreign students at the University of Louisville; Made contributions to the USO, the local ACT-SO chapter; Whitney M. YOUNG Scholars Program United Negro College Fund; Contributed to programs at a YMCA; Purchased emergency resuscitation equipment for a local hospital; Received nine (9) scholarships for four years each from the Girl Friends Fund, Inc. for Louisville students in the amount of $1,500; Contributed to the James W. Turner Memorial Scholarship Fund for five (5) years.
We have had four national Officers: GF Goldie Beckett - National Treasurer, and GF Barbara Miller - National Vice President and National Librarian/Historian, both deceased charter members; GF Faye Owens served on the Girl Friend Fund Board of Directors, and GF Belma Lunderman McClaskey served four terms as National Parliamentarian and one as National Vice President.
